When Jean was asked to give live proof of
her potential as a future ballerina, the evidance
that she presented was conclusive and she was immediately admitted to classes
at the barre. Needless to say she was immensely greatful and showed her thanks by offering a solo ballet
performance.
Her parents lived in a flatform near a train station, which was just as well because the
ballet studio was 40 minutes away by train. They were not rich, but owned a growcery whose sales increased from day
to day.
