The bad behaviour of foreigners soon
aroused the hostility of the local citizens who quickly showed their animocity and also fuelled Jane's bellyhoo, excited as she was, at the imminence
of a new baby. Being in such a state, partly explains why, seized with a wanderlost, she was not interested in
travelling and cloathed, that is,
hated putting new dresses on.
